FUN TIME!!!
Well, Super Saturday has come, and gone. It was a lot of work. We combined with Independence Ward this year. They made some wonderful "make and take" free gifts.....so cute! One was a little angel bookmark or key chain. You can see the cute little post it note holder, and there is a little paper cup deal that held a little bit of candy for a "thinking of you" type gift. Casandra M had her baby boy Wednesday. She is there first picture on the second row! She came and did her crafts. I think her little baby slept away with daddy while mommy was away crafting. One good baby, that little one is! Kathy T did her special chicken salad and served it in homemade cream puffs. We had broccoli salad and fresh fruit. I popped popcorn and we had candy sitting around to munch on...tried that three years ago, and the sisters always ask me if we are having popcorn and candy, so Yes, we had it! You can see the little leaf and nut turkeys. Stephanie came and helped craft mine for me. They are adorable. Stephanie stayed and worked on some little pom pom and pipe cleaner monkeys. We had a craft exchange that was really popular. Sisters brought any craft supplies, books, etc. they were not interested in, and other sisters just grabbed it up! We did Christmas ornaments out of fabric covered Styrofoam balls. We had a little child's Christmas apron to sew, pillows made out of seasonal double sided placements. We did the liquid soap with the grateful hands insert. It was popular again this year, too. We had sisters bring their own projects to work on: one was doing a beaded necklace, one a rag blanket and one was hand quilting a quilt. There was lots of visiting, good food, fun crafts, great day! Thanks to anyone that happens across this post that had a hand in a special day.
PS We had three free demos. One was a photography class. Some neighborhood kids came in and pulled the fire alarm. That ended that class. We had a wheat class by Sylvia Marshall that was wonderful! Great recipes that I can't wait to try. We had a demo on canning meat. You have it--canned, pressurized meat--chicken, beef and hamburger. I am going to set a goal to have my old pressure cooker checked by the county extension office, new seals or valves purchased and mom doesn't know it, but we are going to attempt to can some meat! I'll let you know how it goes....I kind of have a love/hate relationship with pressure cookers. More on that later. Have a great Sunday.
