Toughie's Pinewood Derby

Boys being boys.
Toughie's car is the red one with black stripes. It won this race. He was down at the end of the track confirming his win. He lost a couple of races, then won a race. He smiled a HUGE smile, pulled his fist down, and triumphantly announced to all of us that he "WAS BACK!" Everyone laughed at that. He is a comical kid. Mr Wonderful loved this Pinewood Derby as they did many races, not just a total of four like we have seen in the past. The kids all won against someone (fast car having a bad run), so they all felt like winners. At the end, the little brothers got to race their cars. They were SO tickled to be able to race on the big track.

Toughie is carefully placing his car on the far left track.

Picture of Austin, his car that came in fourth place, his proud mom, and Mr Wonderful, who left work early, was run off of the road by a semi, and still managed to make it to see Toughie race his car.

Most of the cars that raced. The red one with the black stripes is Austin's. Jen's home teacher, Mike M helped Austin make his car this year, as Mr Wonderful has been working 60 hour weeks....for so long now and with no end of the long work weeks in sight. (Until he retires.)

Austin getting his award from Sister Miller. She was so good with all of those boys. I thought she looked familiar. She is a grown daughter of a friend of mine....doesn't seem possible. Brother M, who helped Austin build his car is on the right.
